When you volunteer at the Canadian Cancer Society you have real impact. The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a volunteer-led event and the largest breast cancer fundraiser in Canada. Join us on event day in your local community. You can choose a specific role and shift(s) based on availability.

Description The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run.

This year’s event will be taking place on Sunday, October 4, 2026 at Kwantlen Polytechnic University Surrey Campus.

- Please note that Setup Day is one day prior to the Run Event Day. It will be on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at the same location. You are able to register to volunteer on both Setup Day and Run Event Day.
- Support site set up – movement of tents, table, chairs, hanging banners, and décor
- Should be able to lift at least 10 lbs
- Ready to jump into any task – versatile & helpful
- Accessibility: please note that this role requires walking, being on your feet throughout the shift, and lifting items

Why we need you It is the largest single-day,



volunteer-led event in Canada in support of the breast cancer cause.

A volunteer hours verification letter will be provided upon request.

Volunteer t-shirts will be provided.

Your commitment

Availability on Set Up Day - Saturday, October 3, 2026. Shift time: 3:15PM - 8:30PM. The end time of the shift may occur earlier than scheduled.

Location: Kwantlen Polytechnic University Surrey Campus – 12666 72 Ave, Surrey, BC V3W 2M8.

Please note that volunteers are welcome to register for both Setup Day and Run Event Day; please submit a separate application under one of our Run Event Day volunteer positions if you are interested.
