RV Service Technician

Position Summary

Recreation World RV is looking for motivated, hands-on individuals with experience in the skilled trades—including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or RV service—who are looking to expand their skills while enjoying a rewarding career and a better work-life balance in Thunder Bay.

As an RV Service Technician, you will diagnose, repair, inspect, and maintain recreational vehicles while working across multiple trades in a quick-paced, team-oriented environment. Every day brings a different challenge, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Warranty Repairs

- Inspect new RVs upon arrival from the manufacturer.
- Complete warranty repairs to manufacturer standards.
- Prepare units for customer delivery by ensuring all systems operate safely and correctly.

Diagnostics & Repairs

- Diagnose and repair customer-owned RVs.
- Troubleshoot and repair 12V and 120V electrical systems.
- Diagnose and repair RV appliances under manufacturer warranty.
- Perform propane system inspections, diagnostics, and repairs (training and certification provided).
- Install and service hitches, trailer wiring, and weight distribution systems.

Carpentry & Structural Repairs

- Repair flooring, wall panels, cabinetry, framing, and exterior aluminum.
- Complete structural and cosmetic repairs resulting from normal wear or damage.
- Perform insurance repairs, including hail damage,



water intrusion, collision, and tree impact repairs.

Plumbing Systems

- Diagnose and repair fresh water, grey water, and black water systems.
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures, pumps, valves, and water heaters.

Accessory Installation

- Install aftermarket accessories including:
- Solar power systems
- Awnings
- Backup cameras
- Accessibility equipment
- Customer-requested upgrades and accessories

Documentation & Quality Control

- Complete repair orders accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow manufacturer specifications and company quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with Service Advisors and management regarding repair progress.

Qualifications

Required

- Experience in one or more skilled trades, including:
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Carpentry
- Mechanical repair
- RV service
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license.

Preferred

- RV Technician experience.
- Propane certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience with towing equipment or trailer wiring.
- Experience with insurance or collision repairs.

Physical Requirements





- Ability to lift and move heavy components.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, climb, and work in confined spaces throughout the day.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate shop equipment and power tools.

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
