Audiologist – Rehabilitation Services
The Audiologist operates with a high degree of independence as a member of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. The incumbent plans, delivers, and evaluates hearing services for infants, preschool, school and adult populations; and provides consultative public/parent/caregiver education and training services. The Audiologist may also provide clinical supervision and training for students and provisional members, and participate in the education of other health care professionals upon request while maintaining professional accountability, judgment and reasoning with a high level of communication and collaboration. The incumbent exercises initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities and methods, and takes action on unusual matters. The role functions in accordance with the mission, vision, values and policies of Southern Health‑Sainte Sud.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Master’s Degree in Audiology from an accredited/recognized post‑secondary institution or equivalent.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
Active registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech‑Language Pathologists of Manitoba.
Eligibility for membership with Speech‑Language & Audiology Canada.
Qualifications and Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Outlook/email.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Solid decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with management, staff and external vendors and agencies.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Respect for, and ability to promote a culturally diverse population.
Proficiency in both official languages, required for bilingual positions.
Commitment to confidentiality across paper, electronic and other mediums.
Good work and attendance record.
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence, an all‑purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00.
Physical Requirements
Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
May work occasionally evenings and weekends as necessary.
Will be required to travel to other regional facilities as duties may require.
