Summary/Objective

Reporting to the GL Manager, this position supports the GL team assisting with compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. May include any, or all of, the following: ledgers and preparation of journal entries; fixed asset or inventory accounting; preparation of trial balance or financial statements; cost accounting; bank account reconciliation. Has a valuable knowledge of the organization's existing systems and the ability to handle most regular issues independently.

Essential Functions
Assists with the classification and recording of financial transactions in accordance with company procedures.
Assists in repairing journal entries, reconciles accounts, and reviews supporting documentation for accuracy.
Supports month-end and year-end closing activities.
Assists in preparing standard financial reports, such as trial balances, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
Maintains accounting records and files in an organized and accurate manner.
Helps analyze basic financial data and investigates discrepancies as directed.
Ensures work is completed accurately and within established timelines.
Communicates with internal departments to gather information and clarify accounting-related items.




Provides administrative and accounting support to the finance team as needed.
Learns and applies company accounting policies, procedures, and systems.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Must be able to work effectively in a team-based collaborative environment. Demonstrates ownership of assigned responsibilities with a positive self-starter attitude. Solid communication skills both written and verbal. Able to work independently with minimal direction, but also recognizes when to ask for direction when needed. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a solid attention to detail.

Required Education and Experience
CPA/CGA/CA Designation or nearing completion
2+ years of progressive experience in a similar role (industry or public practice)
Solid experience in working in a Global multi-entity environment is an asset
Solid experience with ERP system (PowerBI, SAP and Microsoft Dynamics (Navision) - desirable
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Microsoft Navision and SAP (preferred but not required)
Experience in delivering timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis
Warehousing and Wholesale expense is an asset.
