Responsibilities

- Design and develop a 165-day (33-week) technical Training Plan aligned with the five Performance Objectives of the Electronic-Optics (EO) Technician Qualification Standard.
- Create Master Lesson Plans for technical instruction mapped to the five Performance Objectives of the qualification standard.
- Define learner characteristics, instructional strategies, learning content, and course guidelines through design documents, scenarios, and manuals.
- Develop effective instructional materials by identifying training and performance requirements, sourcing learning materials, and recommending teaching aids.
- Produce comprehensive training documentation, including assessment reports, instructional plans, design guides, scenarios, activities, exercises, and presentations.
- Focus curriculum on technical subjects such as power systems, motion systems, sensors and signals, and control logic and programming.
- Incorporate content for field and mobile generator systems, including load balancing, hydro codes for temporary installations, and single- and three-phase power troubleshooting.
- Align content with the Siemens Mechatronics Systems Certification Program (SMSCP) Level 1-2 model and the German Duale Ausbildung structure.
- Submit instructional materials and courseware for beta testing and formative evaluation, completing revisions to meet applicable standards and requirements.
- Prepare all deliverables in editable Microsoft Word and PowerPoint formats using the approved course templates.
- Provide bi-weekly progress reports covering the development stage, schedule confirmation, and any delays or issues.
- Maintain an electronic library of work in progress, delivered items, and review comments, and perform version control.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in course design.




- 2+ years of experience designing eLearning products, when eLearning forms part of the requirement.
- 10+ years of experience in the training needs analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of adult learning programs.
- 10+ years of experience in electronic engineering, electro-mechanical, optronics, or mechatronics technical fields.
- 5+ years of experience supporting training, modeling, and electronics, optics, or mechatronics projects within a military or defence training setting.
- Completion of at least three learning strategy plans.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the Siemens Mechatronics Systems Certification Program (SMSCP), evidenced by an SMSCP instructor training certificate or experience delivering SMSCP courses.
- Education: A degree from a recognized Canadian university with a specialization in education, adult learning, distance learning, or eLearning.
