Basic Grain Products Inc. is an established snack food manufacturer with more than 30 years of industry experience. Our manufacturing plant is located in Coldwater, Ohio, while this Quality Assurance Coordinator position is based at our Head Office in Burnaby, BC.

The successful candidate will work from Burnaby and collaborate closely with our Coldwater manufacturing team, providing quality oversight and support remotely.

This position is ideal for an experienced food quality professional with strong SQF experience who is ready to take on broader responsibility and advance their career.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the day-to-day administration of our SQF quality system, including documentation, reviews, corrective actions, and audit readiness.
- Manage customer quality complaints and requests, including investigation, written responses, documentation, and follow-up.
- Develop and update quality policies, procedures, programs, and records.
- Collaborate closely with the Coldwater, Ohio manufacturing team and Burnaby Head Office on quality and food safety matters.
- Remotely observe plant activities in real time through our CCTV network as part of quality monitoring and verification.
- Support third-party and certification audits.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen quality systems and operational practices.
- Take on increasing responsibility and leadership opportunities as you develop in the role.
- Will require infrequent visits to the Plant.

Qualifications

- 2–3 years of food manufacturing Quality Assurance experience.
- Direct,



hands-on SQF or similar GFSI program experience is required.
- Working knowledge of FDA and CFIA food regulations.
- Degree in food science, biotechnology, or a related field preferred; equivalent food QA and SQF experience will also be considered.
- Strong understanding of food manufacturing operations.
- Excellent written communication skills, particularly for customer correspondence.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.
