Aviva Canada Inc. has an exciting opportunity in our Small Medium and Enterprise (SME) commercial insurance business unit. Our Calgary branch is seeking a Commercial Lines P&C; Underwriter at an intermediate level.What you’ll do- Underwrite recent and renewal Core & Mid‑Market P&C; accounts within delegated authority, ensuring profitable growth.- Assess moderate to moderately complex risks and recommend terms, conditions, and pricing.- Prepare referrals for risks outside authority with clear recommendations.- Build and maintain broker relationships;
participate in broker/insured meetings to support new business and renewals.- Monitor market conditions and apply underwriting guidelines consistently.- Maintain accurate documentation, portfolio quality, and compliance.- Support junior staff through basic coaching when needed.What you’ll bring- 3+ years of P&C; underwriting experience;
CIP preferred or in progress.- Robust understanding of underwriting fundamentals, pricing, and policy wording.- Proficiency with underwriting systems, rating tools, and Microsoft Office.- Strong communication, relationship‑building,
