As AECL's Director, you will be pivotal in steering significant environmental management and radioactive waste projects. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Integrated Mission Delivery, your responsibilities will focus on ensuring effective oversight, evaluating contractor performance, and managing decommissioning activities.
This position requires collaboration with governmental and Indigenous partners, prioritizing transparency and accountability in all operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead oversight of decommissioning and waste management initiatives
Collaborate with Indigenous communities and government agencies
Monitor performance and manage risks across projects
Ensure responsible environmental stewardship in all activities
Provide strategic input for decision-making and governance
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Environmental Management
Relevant skilled certification is a plus
Extensive experience in nuclear decommissioning and waste management
Proven experience in risk management and governance
Strong communication skills with diverse stakeholders
