**Senior Technical Business Analyst (3-4 month contract)

Location: Saanich / Victoria, BC area (Hybrid preferred; remote candidates considered)

Staffing Placement Opportunity** About The Opportunity An organization is looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to help assess the current state of data management, identify opportunities for improvement, and support the development of a strategic roadmap for improved data visibility and accessibility.

The organization currently has multiple departments managing their own budgets and operational data. Leadership requires improved visibility into departmental spending, budget availability, and overall financial information across the organization.

The successful candidate will help address challenges related to data silos, disconnected systems, and limited access to consolidated information. This role will focus on assessing existing processes, identifying gaps, and helping define a future-state approach for centralized data visibility and improved decision-making.

This is a high-visibility engagement working closely with IT leadership to bring structure, clarity, and strategic direction to a complex, multi-department data environment.

What You'll Be Doing

- Assess the current state of data across departments, identifying data silos, gaps, risks, and inefficiencies in how financial and operational information is captured, stored, and shared
- Work closely with IT leadership to define scope, timelines, deliverables, and priorities required to improve data centralization and visibility
- Evaluate current data governance practices and provide recommendations for establishing or enhancing governance frameworks




- Support the development of an integrated planning framework aligned with existing technology strategies and roadmaps
- Contribute to the creation of a data and technology roadmap, including recommendations for dashboards and reporting capabilities to provide leadership with improved visibility
- Analyze Finance-related databases and systems, with a focus on improving budget and financial data accessibility
- Identify technology, process, and integration gaps in alignment with broader technology goals and future plans
- Collaborate with business units and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, validate findings, and identify opportunities for improvement
- Provide recommendations on tools, system integration approaches, and future-state solutions
- Support future planning initiatives related to enterprise systems, including ERP considerations (ERP implementation experience is not required)
- Help define the ongoing structure and duration of the engagement based on assessment findings and evolving project needs

What We're Looking For

- Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst, ideally within complex enterprise or public sector environments
- Strong technical BA background with experience in analytics, dashboards, financial data,



and system integration concepts
- Experience with data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices
- Experience contributing to technology roadmaps, strategic planning, and future-state assessments
- Ability to analyze financial and operational data and translate business needs into technical requirements
- Experience supporting data strategy, reporting, or business intelligence initiatives
- Familiarity with AI strategy, emerging technologies, or innovation planning is an asset
- Experience with systems integration and data architecture concepts is an asset
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and engage with senior leadership
- Comfortable working in an evolving setting where discovery, assessment, and recommendations will shape the future direction

Engagement Structure This engagement offers flexibility, with the schedule determined based on project requirements:

- Full-time (~7–7.5 hours/day): approximately 3–4 month contract
- Part-time (~20 hours/week): approximately 6.5–7 month contract

There is potential for extension or transition into additional project work following completion of the initial assessment and roadmap phase, depending on project needs.

Work Model

- Hybrid work preferred, with the successful candidate ideally located in the Saanich/Victoria, BC area
- Remote candidates will be considered, with the expectation of attending an in-person onboarding session and occasional on-site meetings
