The town of Peace River is nestled in the beautiful Peace River valley and is the cultural and economic hub of the Peace Region of northwestern Alberta. The town population is about 6000 with a surrounding catchment of 10,000. Come join our team in a agile rural facility. You will be working closely with physicians and members of a multidisciplinary team to provide care for patients while following AHS values. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the effective flow of communication between health specialists,



departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.

Courses deemed applicable to current position.

Previous experience may be preferred.
