Quinte Regional Sleep Clinic is looking for Sleep Technologists to join our team in Belleville, Ontario. We currently have opportunities available for both full time and casual technologists.
We are looking for reliable, detail-oriented individuals who enjoy working with patients and are comfortable working independently in an overnight clinical environment.
Previous sleep lab experience is preferred; however, we are also willing to consider candidates with relevant healthcare education or training who are interested in developing their skills in sleep medicine.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Set up and perform overnight polysomnographic (PSG) studies
- Apply electrodes, respiratory sensors and other monitoring equipment
- Perform pre- and post-study calibrations
- Monitor patients and physiological signals throughout the night
- Recognize and troubleshoot artifacts, poor signals and equipment issues
- Perform CPAP/BiPAP titrations according to physician orders and clinic protocols
- Accurately document patient observations, events and interventions
- Monitor and document patient position, oxygen saturation and other study parameters
- Maintain patient comfort, privacy and safety throughout the study
- Complete required technical documentation
- Clean, disinfect and prepare equipment and patient rooms for subsequent studies
- Follow clinic policies,
infection-control procedures and established sleep laboratory standards
What We're Looking For
- Previous sleep laboratory or polysomnography experience is an asset
- Education or training in polysomnography, respiratory therapy or another healthcare-related field is an asset
- RPSGT designation is an asset but not required
- Strong attention to detail and technical troubleshooting skills
- Excellent patient-care and communication skills
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
- Dependable, punctual and organized
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Current CPR/First Aid certification is an asset
Compensation $20.00–$25.00 per hour
Starting wage will be based on the successful candidate's sleep laboratory experience, education, qualifications and registration status.
Casual applicants should have flexibility to provide coverage for available overnight shifts, including vacation and sick coverage.
