Job Description

We are presently recruiting for the role of Vision Care - Surgical - Therapeutic Specialist for Ontario, reporting to Rakesh Krishnan, Sr Brand and District Sales Manager. The candidate will be responsible for managing and leading business development in some of our largest customer key accounts in Ontario. The product portfolio covers Glaucoma surgical device and Retina.

The Vision Care - Surgical - Therapeutic Specialist for Ontario is intended to be the face of AbbVie to identified Key Accounts to continue to build on and develop the long-term customer relationships across the glaucoma and dry eye portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Account Management

• Serve as the primary customer expert and manager of AbbVies commercial relationships with External Experts and Key Accounts
• Build deep, broad, and trust-based engagements within Key Account organizations
• Develop a thorough understanding of customer priorities, organizational structure, and business setting to maximize sales
• Act as the core customer advocate within AbbVie — surfacing issues, concerns, and priorities internally
• Identify and develop new Key Accounts while growing existing ones

Strategic & Business Planning

• Develop comprehensive, account-specific business strategies aligned with AbbVies guidelines and values
• Identify predictive and responsive opportunities to co-develop solutions within Key Accounts
• Proactively identify and mitigate challenges to effective customer interactions
• Conduct regular internal and external business territory performance reviews
• Proficiently manage overall territory budget and resource allocation

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Maintain a macro view of customer relationships and work cross-functionally to maximize sales results
• Ensure internal team members understand and execute against the customer strategy and sales expectations
• Collaborate with AbbVies Medical team to optimize product knowledge and business training
• Execute national marketing programs in partnership with internal cross-functional teams

Surgical & Technical Support (Xen)

• Provide technical support and guidance for Xen procedures in accordance with the approved Product Monograph and Directions for Use
• Ensure product availability and readiness during procedures per hospital operational supply processes
• Provide product knowledge and technical troubleshooting support specific to device and procedure technique
• Offer peri-operative guidance (pre- and post-operative considerations) as approved through MIR and CS training modules
• Identify opportunities to support surgeons and address gaps by leveraging cross-functional partners, both within and outside the OR

Qualifications

• B.A. or B.S.
  
  
  
  degree or MBA combination of experience and education required
• A minimum of 5 years of Sales and/or marketing/or head office operational experience
• Experience in Surgical Sales is preferred
• HCP background (Nurse, MD etc ) is preferred
• Key Account Management experience valued
• A thorough understanding of the institutional/ Key Account healthcare sector preferred
• Demonstrated track record of achieving and/or exceeding business results
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Robust business acumen and self-starter
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, listening and adaptability skills
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Proven ability to effectively communicate cross-functionally within the company
• Ability to effectively communicate with senior leaders both with customers & internally
• Candidate must be fluent in English. Both verbal and written
• Highly cooperative with a customer-centric mindset
• Able to travel up to 75% of the time

The salary range for this position is provided in accordance with applicable local disclosure requirements and is designed to be a representative range of salaries of this role alongside other comparable roles. A discretionary decision of an individuals final base salary will be determined based on numerous factors, including the selected candidate’s experience, qualifications, job responsibilities, and internal equity considerations, consistent with company policies and applicable law.
