Position Overview
Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking an experienced and dedicated Specialty Registered Nurse (RN) to join their healthcare team on a travel nursing assignment. The successful candidate will provide advanced nursing care in specialized clinical settings, delivering high-quality patient-centered care while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
This position is ideal for nurses who thrive in fast-paced environments and have experience caring for patients with complex medical needs.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver safe, competent, and evidence-based nursing care to patients with specialized and complex healthcare needs.
Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care activities.
Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changing clinical situations.
Provide clinical leadership and professional nursing expertise within specialized care areas.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, allied health professionals, and multidisciplinary teams.
Advocate for patients and families while supporting informed care decisions.
Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with organizational standards.
Participate in patient and family education to promote recovery and overall health.
Support quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management initiatives.
Contribute to the effective operation of the clinical unit through teamwork and professional engagement.
Adhere to all professional, regulatory, and organizational standards of nursing practice.
Required Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Eligible to practice nursing in the Province of Nova Scotia.
Recent experience in a specialty nursing environment involving complex patient care.
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based practice.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in acute care, critical care, emergency nursing, specialty medicine, surgical services, or other specialized clinical areas.
Current certifications such as BLS, ACLS, or other specialty-related credentials.
Experience using electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation systems.
