Join Peel Region as a Community Development Worker focused on harm reduction services. This full-time role emphasizes outreach, support, and education for underserved populations.
The successful candidate will work on the Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention team for 18 months, delivering essential harm reduction services across Peel Region. Required skills include community education, overdose prevention training, and establishing local partnerships. This role includes both day and evening shifts, offering the chance to positively impact community health.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver harm reduction services and educational materials
• Provide training on overdose prevention and response
• Engage with communities using the mobile harm reduction van
• Build partnerships to enhance service delivery
• Conduct education sessions on harm reduction topics
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in health or social services
• Minimum 1 year of experience in harm reduction or community work
• Valid CPR certification and G class driver’s license
• Robust communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in public health or related field
