Job Description TheOpportunity
OurHealth Care Aides are an integral part of our clients’ dailylives as our clients rely on our Aides to function effectivelyand comfortably. Our Aides provide the necessary physical andemotional support to our clients, but also relay insight andideas to the health care professional in charge to improve ourclients’ safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to Assisting clients withactivities of daily living, personal care, and other health caretasks as delegated by the health care professional in charge(e.g., LPN, RN, physician)
Home supportactivities including meal preparation, cooking, housekeeping,and shopping
Ensuring clients aresafe and comfortable
Finding creative andeffective solutions to improve client's quality of life andwellbeing
Reportingand documenting necessary items appropriately and in atimely fashion
Following direction andtraining from your supervisor
Performing dutiesdiligently and compassionately within your scope ofpractice
Completingtasks with a high level of professionalism, expertise, andcompetency
Requirements Education &Experience; Experience withmental health an asset
Health Care Aidecertificate (or equivalent) from an accreditedinstitution
CPR/BCLScertification required
Minimum 1-yearexperience in a clinical setting is considered anasset
Basic computerliteracy
Must speak,read, and write English fluently
Skills &Abilities; Excellentcommunication, organizational, and team skills
Highattention to detail and thoroughness
Ability to providecompassion, empathy, and understanding to theclient
Ability to problemsolve through critical thinking andself-education
Ability to meetphysical demands of the job, including knowledge ofappropriate ergonomics
Ability to learn andreceive training in areas you may have knowledge in, but noprior experience
Enthusiastic attitudeand energy to provide excellent care and service
