This position is part of our dedicated Evening Shift team and is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fabrication and prototype environment while contributing to the production of highly specialized components used in advanced cryogenic systems.
You will play a critical role in producing specialized components that directly impact the performance of our systems. This position requires both technical expertise and a proactive mindset — someone who is comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with engineering, production, and procurement teams.
Candidates must be willing and able to work evening shifts on a permanent basis. This is not a rotating shift position.
We believe work-life balance extends beyond the traditional workweek. Our Evening Shift schedule provides employees with a consistent four-day workweek and a three-day weekend every week.
Permanent Evening Shift
Monday – Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM
Four 10-hour shifts per week
Salaried position with additional $3.00/hour shift premium
No rotating shifts
Candidates must be available to work evenings on a permanent basis
What Will You Do




Working closely with the machining and production team, you will contribute to the fabrication of high-precision components used in our cryogenic systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
Programming, setting up, and operating CNC mills and lathes (3axis)
Machining prototype and short-run production parts to tight tolerances
Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to produce accurate components
Collaborating with engineering on design considerations, materials, and manufacturability
Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality
Performing routine maintenance and supporting preventative maintenance of equipment
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace
Documenting work and communicating performance, challenges, and efficiencies to leadership
Supporting team objectives and stepping in where needed in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience / Technical Skills
We are most interested in candidates with strong machining fundamentals and a detail-oriented mindset:
3–5+ years of experience operating CNC mills and lathes
Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or prototype shop environments
Ability to program, set up, operate, and troubleshoot machining processes
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Experience working with tight tolerances and high-precision components
Strong problem-solving skills with a cost-conscious approach to machining
Ability to manage time effectively and meet production deadlines
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team-oriented team
Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
Experience with Autodesk Inventor and Mastercam
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Nice to Have / Considered an Asset
Journeyman Machinist (Red Seal) or equivalent certification
Experience working with specialized materials or complex geometries
Experience with Mastercam
Experience supporting process development or continuous improvement initiatives
Previous experience working evening, night, or off-shift manufacturing operations is considered an asset
