Lead occupational health and safety initiatives in Iqaluit, NU as the Deputy Chief Safety Officer at WSCC. Shape safety policy and foster a collaborative culture across Northern communities.
As a full time Deputy Chief Safety Officer, you will report to the Chief Safety Officer while overseeing safety compliance and enforcement for WSCC. With over five years of industrial safety experience and senior management expertise, you will drive real change in workplace safety across Nunavut and Northwest Territories. Mentoring safety officers and building partnerships with stakeholders are key components of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Shape safety policy and workplace culture
• Oversee investigations and compliance inspections
• Build alliances with regulatory bodies and stakeholders
• Lead teams in consistent OHS practices
• Manage unit financial resources and budgets
Requirements:
• Degree/certification in Occupational Health and Safety
• CRSP designation required
• Minimum of five years in safety management
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Strong data analysis and leadership skills
Enhance public safety through effective oversight and policy development as Deputy Chief Safety Officer.
