Position Title: Manufacturing Maintenance Manager Salary & Benefits: $100,000-135,000 Position Status: Current Vacancy Location: Ottawa, ON Work Model: Onsite
Responsibilities Maintenance Management Build and maintain a TPM program for plant facilities and critical production equipment
Drive a 3-5 year reliability roadmap to move the organization from reactive to preventive and predictive maintenance
Plan, prioritize, and schedule maintenance work; manage planned vs. unplanned downtime with a target of Track key performance metrics (OEE, MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance) and lead continuous improvement
Lead reliability initiatives such as RCA, FMEA, and RCM
Determine staffing needs, including additional manpower and 24/7 coverage when required
Decide whether work is completed in-house or subcontracted
Oversee spare parts strategy, including critical spares and vendor‑managed inventory
Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, EHS, and IT/OT Security to strengthen reliability and risk controls
General Maintenance Coordinate maintenance activities across Ontario and Recent Brunswick facilities
Ensure upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment
Perform electrical and mechanical repairs as needed
Maintain HVAC systems
Manage snow removal, landscaping, and janitorial services
Implement periodic maintenance schedules and respond to urgent service calls
Address and follow up on facility‑related requests
Facilities Planning & Expansion Assess space utilization and recommend improvements
Support development of building plans, drawings, schedules, and budgets
Arrange permits and manage subcontractors
Oversee construction, renovations, and expansion activities




Reconfigure office layouts and manage furniture needs
Ensure project timelines and milestones are met
Leadership Attributes Think in systems, understanding how plant assets connect and impact reliability. Uses data and failure history to guide decisions. Maintains a security‑focused mindset regarding maintenance systems and vendor access. Recognizes the mission‑critical nature of defense manufacturing. Performs steadily under pressure and in hazardous environments.
Financial Management Review subcontractor costs and exercise sound financial judgment. Support annual maintenance budgeting and manage expenditures. Ensure budget adherence. Prepare bills of materials and submit purchase requests.
Supervision Train, guide, and support permanent and contract staff
Manage subcontractors and ensure compliance with safety and company policies
Assist with project execution when required
What will make you stand out: Demonstrated success implementing TPM, RCM, predictive maintenance, and Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred).
Experience within a complex manufacturing plant at a management level.
Ability to obtain Security Clearance and a strong track record of operating within regulated, secure environments.
Proven ability to maintain uptime, solve complex failures,



and lead teams effectively in fast‑moving, high‑risk plant settings.
The ideal candidate for the Manufacturing Maintenance Manager role is a seasoned manufacturing maintenance leader who thrives in complex, high‑stakes production environments. You will bring deep technical expertise in industrial equipment reliability, TPM, RCM, and Lean methodologies, paired with the judgment required to support defense‑related manufacturing. With a background in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering and extensive experience in heavy manufacturing or regulated industries, you will understand how plant performance directly affects mission‑critical delivery schedules. The successful candidate communicates openly, works seamlessly across teams, leads with calm confidence, and maintains strict adherence to safety, security, and compliance requirements. You are hands‑on, data‑driven, and capable of guiding both people and systems toward higher reliability and operational excellence.
You must be eligible for Government Security Clearance.
