LeverageTek is actively seeking a Student Assessment Consultant for a 1-year contract with its bilingual customer in the Ottawa region.

Work Location

Hybrid Ottawa (3x/week)

Key Tasks

- Design and build a comprehensive, individual-level program of assessment for medical students from Year 1 to graduation
- Develop in-the-moment, real-time assessment tools covering all CanMEDS competency domains (Medical Expert, Communicator, Collaborator, Health Advocate, Qualified, Scholar)
- Create a longitudinal tracking and aggregation system to support quarterly student trajectory reviews by committee
- Build an early identification and intervention framework to flag students with emerging areas of concern before they reach a failing threshold
- Ensure the assessment system meets accreditation standards for a comprehensive system of assessment
- Align the assessment architecture with both the current curriculum and the new 2028 curriculum
- Collaborate with the Dean and physician faculty to ensure assessment tools are practical for use in active clinical environments

Key Qualifications

- PhD in Assessment, Programmatic Assessment, Educational Measurement, or a directly related field
- Demonstrated experience designing and building multi-domain, competency-based assessment systems within a medical school or health sciences academic environment
- Deep working knowledge of the CanMEDS framework and competency-based medical education (CBME)

Qualifications

- Experience designing in-the-moment and longitudinal assessment tools for use in clinical settings (OR, hospital floor, simulation)
- Familiarity with OSCEs and other performance-based assessment methodologies
- Experience with Canadian medical school accreditation frameworks (CACMS/LCME)
- Bilingual (French/English)
