Position Summary The Distribution Center Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the distribution center, ensuring the efficient, accurate, and safe flow of goods from receiving through shipping. This role provides strong leadership to warehouse employees, drives operational excellence, and promotes a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and teamwork. The ideal candidate is an experienced distribution leader with a proven track record of optimizing warehouse operations, developing high-performing teams, and delivering exceptional service levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all daily distribution center operations, including receiving, inventory, order fulfillment/picking, and shipping.
- Plan staffing, schedules, and workflow to meet operational demands while maximizing productivity.
- Supervise, coach, develop, and manage the performance of warehouse team members and team leads.
- Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, inventory controls, and adherence to warehouse processes.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, quality, and service levels.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and warehouse best practices.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues, inventory discrepancies, and customer service escalations in a timely manner.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in distribution center or warehouse operations,
including several years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience leading teams in a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, shipping and receiving, and logistics best practices.
- Demonstrated success in improving operational efficiency through continuous improvement.
- Experience monitoring and analyzing KPIs to drive operational performance.
- Strong leadership, coaching, conflict resolution, and employee development skills.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Experience working with ERP/WMS systems and Microsoft Office.
- Robust knowledge of health and safety regulations and logistics procedures.
