Position Overview
Service New Brunswick (SNB), on behalf of the Department of Health, is seeking an experienced Application Architect III (Senior Solutions Architect) to support the implementation of the Current Brunswick Cancer Network (NBCN) Lung and Cervical HPV Screening Programs .
The successful consultant will lead the architecture, design, and strategic implementation of enterprise healthcare solutions supporting provincial cancer screening initiatives. This role requires extensive experience in solution architecture, enterprise integration, digital health, cloud modernization, stakeholder engagement, and enterprise-level application strategy within the Canadian public sector.
The successful candidate will work closely with executive stakeholders, business teams, project managers, business analysts, solution strategists, and development teams to deliver scalable, secure, and sustainable enterprise healthcare solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the overall solution architecture strategy for provincial healthcare initiatives.
Define architectural vision, standards, governance, and technology roadmaps.
Develop enterprise integration architecture and solution design documentation.
Translate business and technical requirements into scalable architecture solutions.
Lead architecture reviews and provide strategic technical direction.
Design cloud-based solutions and modernize legacy/on-premise applications.
Develop technical specifications, integration requirements, and API architecture.
Collaborate with executive leadership and business stakeholders to align technology with business objectives.
Provide architectural guidance throughout the software development lifecycle.
Mentor developers and technical teams while ensuring architectural best practices.
Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Design enterprise managed services and reusable architectural processes.
Support long-term application lifecycle planning and maintainability.
Ensure compliance with provincial healthcare privacy and security standards.
Prepare and deliver executive presentations and solution walkthroughs.
Support provincial digital transformation initiatives within the healthcare sector.
Requirements Mandatory Qualifications (M1–M7)
Applicants must demonstrate:
Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering .
Minimum 20 years of Information Management/Information Technology (IM/IT) experience.
Minimum 6 years of experience as a Solution Architect or Solution Strategist delivering medium to large complex system development, COTS, or SaaS implementation projects involving:
Multiple business units or organizations
Projects extending beyond nine months
Business transformation and technical modernization initiatives
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Senior Solutions Strategist supporting digital health initiatives within the New Brunswick public sector .
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Availability to commence work as per project schedule.
Compliance with SNB's single-candidate submission requirement.

Managing and leading teams of IT professionals (5+ years)
