On behalf of our client, Affinity is seeking a Technology Operations Analyst to support the technology ecosystem that powers one of Canada's most innovative mixed-use developments.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Operations & Incident Management
Provide frontline support for smart building and operational technology environment.
Monitor technology systems and respond to incidents, alarms, service interruptions, and user-reported issues.
Perform initial troubleshooting and root cause analysis to determine the source of issues across building systems, networks, devices, and applications.
Coordinate with internal support teams and external vendors to ensure timely issue resolution.
Track incidents through closure, providing ongoing communication and status updates to stakeholders.
Document issues, resolutions, and operational procedures to support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Smart Building & Operational Technology Support
Support the day-to-day operation of building technologies, including:
HVAC systems
Electrical and lighting controls
CCTV and video surveillance
Access control systems
Life safety systems
IoT-enabled devices and sensors
Assist with monitoring building systems through integrated building management platforms.
Support the onboarding and integration of new technologies, sensors, and automation solutions.
Work closely with operations teams to identify and elevate issues impacting building performance and user experience.
Network & Connectivity Support
Support and monitor network-connected building systems and smart devices.
Assist with wireless network troubleshooting across a large-scale enterprise environment containing over 350 wireless access points.
Perform basic network diagnostics involving connectivity, performance, and device communication issues.
Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams when network-related issues require escalation.
Audio Visual & Event Technology Support
Provide frontline operational support for audio visual systems across the property.
Support technology required for events, presentations, public activations, and large-scale performances.
Assist with troubleshooting digital displays, sound systems, event technology, and related infrastructure.
Coordinate with vendors and event stakeholders to ensure technology readiness for scheduled events and performances.
Tenant, Operations & User Support
Support the technology needs of Operations Management and associated user groups.
Assist users with technology platforms, devices, applications, and operational systems.
Develop familiarity with the suite of applications utilized to support onsite operations.
Provide training and guidance to operational teams on the use of smart building technologies and related tools.
Build strong working relationships with operations teams, corporate IT, vendors, and external partners.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
Maintain awareness of cybersecurity principles as they relate to operational technology environments.
Identify and report potential security concerns, system vulnerabilities, or unusual activity.
Support adherence to technology governance, operational standards, and cybersecurity best practices.
Qualifications
Required
Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
Customer-focused mindset with solid stakeholder management skills.
Familiarity with connected devices and smart building ecosystems
Understanding of operational technology cybersecurity principles
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and vendor platforms
Top Skills Necessary
3+ years of experience in a technology support, technical operations, service desk or infrastructure support role, supporting one or more of the following areas:
Smart building technologies
Building automation systems
Security systems (CCTV, access control)
Networking and wireless infrastructure
IoT devices and connected technologies
Audio visual technologies
Event technology support
Commercial real estate technology environments
Operational technology (OT) environments
Large public venues, hospitality, retail, campus, or mixed-use developments
3+ years of experience troubleshooting technology issues across multiple platforms and coordinating resolution with internal teams and vendors.
3+ years of experience using monitoring and incident management tools for network troubleshooting and diagnostics including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wireless Networking.
