Automation Supervisor – Maintenance Team Salary: $88,140.00 – $110,175.00 per year.

Responsibilities As a key member of the Maintenance team, the Automation Supervisor is responsible for improving, streamlining, and automating the manufacturing process while maintaining product quality and adhering to company policy and external regulations. This role also supervises day‑to‑day maintenance operations in the plant, plans, implements, and monitors the electrical PLC, programming and automation process, and the maintenance plan.

- Collaborate and provide direction to the maintenance team on tasks and projects related to automation and maintenance in the byproducts area.
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning of process automation software and hardware, in adherence to GMP, H&S;, and Food Safety Standards.
- Supervise and implement the maintenance plan for the byproducts department.
- Lead continuous improvement (CI) program within the maintenance team.
- Prioritize and execute automation mandates within defined schedules and budgets.
- Investigate and analyze issues/problems to recommend design improvements.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot automation and process control system problems.
- Provide training to plant staff as required.
- Collaborate with corporate engineering on system control logic and operator interfaces (HMI).
- Maintain up‑to‑date records of all Process PLCs and programs.
- Prepare budget estimates in close collaboration with other departments.
- Establish controls and links with OT/IT departments to implement plant or maintenance requirements.
- Work with other trades groups,



vendors, and contractors to complete project assignments.
- Ensure proper documentation of work performed, parts used, time sheets, and HACCP documents.
- Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications - Minimum 5 years of automation/controls experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.

- Proficient knowledge of Allen Bradley RSLogix (5, 500, 5000), Micrologic, PLC 5, Ethernet communication, FactoryTalk View Studio, Panel Builder, Wonderware.
- Experience in programming and maintaining servo drives.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills and strong team orientation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Certified Journeyperson electrician or instrumentation is an asset.
- Experience in food industry or high‑speed packaging.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- High level of self‑motivation and initiative.
