Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in accounting principles and practices, with proficiency in various accounting software.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial statements, reports, and reconciliations
- Manage corporate and personal tax return filings in compliance with CRA regulations
- Support payroll processing and ensure timely remittances
- Conduct account analysis, financial audits, and variance reviews
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management for clients
- Provide support for corporate finance activities and advisory projects
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, laws, and regulations
- Use accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and CaseWare to manage client files efficiently
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of relevant experience in public practice or corporate accounting
- Solid knowledge of GAAP,
Canadian tax laws, and compliance standards
- Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, CaseWare, or other accounting software
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Effective communication skills and ability to work with clients directly
- Working towards or holding a CPA designation (asset, but not mandatory)
Experience
- Proven work experience as an Accountant or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
- Experience with account analysis, financial auditing, and financial services
- Proficiency in using accounting software like Xero and QuickBooks
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $41,310.88-$75,777.74 per year
