Overview

Skeena Taxi is hiring a Cab Dispatcher on a casual basis, with a clear path to full-time employment for the right candidate. The role begins with on-call, casual shifts to provide coverage and build familiarity with the dispatch system. Over time, as reliability and performance are demonstrated, the position will transition to a permanent, full-time schedule of 4 days on / 4 days off, with 12-hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities

· Answer a high volume of phone calls, text requests, and app-based bookings in a professional and friendly manner.

· Dispatch cabs efficiently using two-way radio, dispatch software, and mobile data terminals, matching the closest available driver to each call.

· Monitor driver locations, trip statuses, and shift schedules in real time.

· Resolve customer concerns, complaints, and service issues calmly and professionally; escalate when necessary.

· Record and report trip details, lost-and-found items, and any incidents or accidents.

Qualifications & Skills





· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Previous dispatch, call centre, or logistics experience is preferred; experience in the taxi or transportation industry is a strong asset.

· Strong multitasking ability—comfortable juggling phones, radio, and computer screens simultaneously.

· Proficiency with computers and the ability to quickly learn dispatch software and mobile apps.

· Calm, clear communication style, especially during peak times or when handling difficult situations.

· Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions

· Fast-paced office workplace with continuous phone and radio activity.

· Shift work, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and statutory holidays. Taxi service runs 24/7.

Pay: $23.00-$24.00 per hour
