Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Victoria, BC, for a Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer 3. The role involves applied advanced knowledge with independence to solve complex technical problems and develop tools, fixtures, and process used to manufacture products for the mobile equipment industry.

The Manufacturing Mechanical Developer 2 will be responsible for contributing to development projects, and overseeing project management tasks. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to complete manufacturing projects on time and within budget will also be required.

Position Responsibilities

Solves technical problems and improves the efficiency and the development of new products

Produces innovative design ideas and solutions

Consistently applies a continuous improvement mindset and ability to present ideas while demonstrating teamwork and proactive communication skills

Implements engineering changes into production and gathers production feedback

Creates and performs preventative maintenance on production lines

Leads equipment, capability, and infrastructure studies

Manages time and delivery of concurrent projects within scope and budget

Develops plans and schedules and manages priorities, sets expectations, and achieves results for a team of developers

Consistently produces accurate documentation, descriptions, BOMs, and CAD models

Reviews documentation and technical delivery from other developers





Initiates or leads special projects for the business

Adheres to and creates companywide and department specific technical and safety guidelines

Advanced and practical knowledge of lean manufacturing including value stream mapping

Consistently applies and models a continuous improvement mindset and ability to present ideas with business impact

Responsible for overall value stream map for production lines

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical or Systems Engineering or equivalent work experience

At least 5 years of work-related experience

Experience in leading projects with a cross-functional team

Experience with Microsoft OfficeStrong working knowledge of CAD design, 3-D modelling, and tooling for plastic and metal parts

Working experience with Lean Manufacturing

Experience with design of tolerance for high-volume manufacturing
