Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Hazmat Technician role based in Paris, ON. The Hazmat Technician will respond to hazardous materials incidents, assist with containment and cleanup operations, and support decontamination activities in accordance with established safety protocols and regulatory standards. Day-to-day tasks include deploying specialized equipment, conducting site assessments, following incident command structures, and preparing accurate documentation and reports. The role also involves working with team members and external partners to manage scenes safely, communicating clearly with clients and stakeholders,



and participating in ongoing training and drills to maintain high readiness. The Hazmat Technician may be required to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, depending on emergency response needs.
Qualifications Candidates should possess strong hazardous materials handling skills, with experience in secure containment, cleanup, and decontamination procedures.
Candidates should possess effective communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with team members, clients, and public agencies during emergency events.
Candidates should possess troubleshooting abilities, including problem-solving skills in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
Candidates should possess familiarity with CCTV installation or related monitoring technologies, supporting site surveillance and incident documentation as needed.
Knowledge of emergency response protocols, OH&S; regulations, and relevant hazmat standards (e.g., WHMIS, TDG, first responder certifications) is highly beneficial.
Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including wearing PPE, lifting equipment, and operating in adverse weather or challenging environments.
Prior experience in emergency response, industrial safety, fire services, environmental services, or related fields is an asset.
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; willingness to participate in ongoing training and maintain required certifications.
