Summary

The Project Engineer will take a hands‑on approach to our production facilities, gaining in-depth knowledge of critical equipment, historical breakdowns, and their root causes. Collaborating with our Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams, they will develop and implement maintenance programs aimed at eliminating root causes, creating risk mitigation strategies, and optimizing preventive maintenance processes to minimize equipment downtime. This role reports to the Sr Directior, Engineering, while working closely with the Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement and Maintenance teams at each site to drive operational excellence and reliability.

Location: 1425 The Queensway, Etobicoke, Ontario

Primary Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the maintenance team during preventive maintenance activities to develop a thorough understanding of equipment functionality and operation

Partner with Engineering and Maintenance teams to identify and prioritize critical areas affecting equipment reliability

Conduct root cause analysis for equipment breakdowns, review historical data,



and analyze existing preventative maintenance programs to pinpoint gaps, and recommend improvements for overall equipment reliability

Assist the maintenance team in creating and maintaining an inventory of critical spare parts to ensure operational continuity

Work alongside the plant reliability engineer to perform assessments of equipment conditions to determine if overhauls or replacements are required

Develop comprehensive requirement plans for capital expenditures related to equipment upgrades or replacements

Assist the plant reliability engineer in the planning and execution of reliability driven capital projects

Collaborate with the Maintenance team to organize and optimize maintenance shops for maximum productivity

Participate in the implementation and adoption of maintenance‑related software tools to streamline operations

Undertake additional engineering and maintenance-related responsibilities as assigned

Other duties may be assigned.

About You:

Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required

Prior experience in manufacturing and maintenance environments is a strong asset but not mandatory

Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement initiatives and implement best practices.
