About this Position
Reporting to the Project Delivery Manager, the Lead Project Controller is responsible for ensuring accurate reporting and approval of accruals, forecasts and project status as well as early intervention and notification of variances to project baseline schedule and spend while ensuring the integration of project control measures including cost control, scheduling, progressing and change management.
The Lead Project Controller leads a team of Project Controllers at site and in office by standardizing and implementing the processes and tools to be used by onsite and office based project controllers and builds on those systems to ensure sustainability in project controls.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

General Duties and Responsibilities
Develop Project Controls processes and standards, and support implementation across all projects in Canada.
Working collaboratively with operations management to prepare, define and compile the controls baselines including the development of project schedules,
budgets and track progress against these baselines.
Provide operations management with accurate and up-to-date cost information to facilitate sound project decision making.
Assist in the review and analysis of the project schedule and cost reports and suggest corrective actions to maintain the project within anticipated cost and
Ensure forecasts are prepared and integrated according to Client and Cementation
Monitor planning and project/progress achievements of milestones and using the project schedule generate data and curves for each cost profile.
Assist area managers and site project controllers in the submission of change management documentation, monitor and track progress.
Ensure project coding is communicated to accounting, purchasing, and operations
Monitor timesheet entries to ensure work is distributed to the correct project and sub-
Monitor purchase orders to ensure purchases are distributed to the correct project codes and sub-codes and advise management of any discrepancies, changes or out of scope
Analyze performance data, identify trends, works with operations teams to prepare mitigation
Prepare and finalize the close-out reports, including maintaining historical costs and production information with the assistance of the project
Provide support in proposal and estimating efforts to ensure continuity between project estimates and project baseline.
Assist the project team in converting project bids to setting up the complete, accurate project baseline in JDE and Primavera P6.
Prepare and issue regular progress and status reports, as per Client requirements, or as per Cementation standards.

This position has the requirement for occasional travel to our project sites and
Travel period may range from one day to several
Supervisory Responsibilities
Lead Project Controls teams.
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree or equivalent, Bachelor of Commerce, or Certified Engineering Technologist Diploma.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or a Certified Cost Professional (CCP) designation, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
Minimum of 10 years of direct project controls experience in a mining or heavy construction
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Excellent communication and organizational
Proven ability to build solid working
Efficient multitasking
Able to effectively prioritize workload to ensure deadlines are
Ability to produce read and manipulate schedules and scheduling curves/reports.
Applied knowledge of cost engineering/cost control, project control principles and earned value principles.
Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Hard Dollar, or other Estimating
Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook
