Lead transformative land-based healing initiatives with Batchewana First Nation in Sault Ste. Marie. Deliver impactful programs grounded in Anishnaabe culture, ensuring mental wellness and addiction recovery for participants.
As the Program Lead for Land-Based Healing, you will develop culturally sensitive programming to promote identity and healing. This full-time contract role culminates in March 2027, requiring solid leadership in program development and delivery. Collaborate with community members and leaders, integrating Anishnaabe teachings to foster mental wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead program planning aligned with departmental frameworks
• Create a culturally safe environment for participants
• Assess risks and ensure physical safety during activities
• Implement feedback loop for program improvement
• Build cross-community relationships to enhance services
Requirements:
• College diploma in Social Work, Human Services, or related field
• Minimum 4 years in program development
• 2 years in a leadership role
• Knowledge of Anishnaabe cultural practices
• Certification in Wilderness First Aid or similar
