The Burnaby School District is the fourth largest in BC. The District operates 41 elementary and 8 secondary schools, including a range of district and provincial resource programs. The District supports and provides learning to 25,000 Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12) students and to more than 6,000 adult learners through our established Burnaby Community & Continuing Education program. Burnaby School District invites applications from qualified ELEMENTARY TEACHERS – MUSIC for Full time / Part time and Teacher-on-Call positions. These positions are effective September 8, 2026. Required TEACHER Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or academic equivalent in an appropriate field of study;
Relevant methodology courses
Valid BC Teaching Certificate
Knowledge of a broad range of effective instructional strategies in order to meet the diverse needs of all students;
Knowledge of consultative and collaborative strategies; and
Recent, successful, substantive teaching or practicum experience in the relevant grade level
Required MUSIC Qualifications A Bachelor of Music, Music Education degree or academic equivalent
A major concentration in music education in an applicable area such as Orff (Level II) or Kodaly
Course work and/or knowledge of choral music instruction for young voices
A Music education teaching methodology course(s) in the relevant areas
