Job Summary
The Team The Adult Custody Centre team at Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre is an established and diverse group dedicated to maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive environment within a provincial correctional facility. Working alongside Correctional Officers, Supervisors, and Managers, team members contribute to a respectful workplace that values different perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds while supporting the safety and well‑being of all individuals in custody and the community.
The Role The Chaplain provides compassionate spiritual guidance, pastoral care, and holistic support to individuals in custody, their families, and correctional staff. Working within a diverse correctional setting, this role supports people from a wide range of faiths, cultures, and backgrounds, including those with no faith affiliation, by creating inclusive opportunities for reflection, connection, and personal growth. The Chaplain builds respectful relationships, promotes culturally safe practices,



and works collaboratively with community leaders and correctional teams to support the well‑being and dignity of those impacted by the justice system.
Qualifications: Education and Experience Requirements Graduation from a recognized theological seminary/college or recognized standing with valid, current and good standing accreditation OR equivalent accreditation or recognition from another faith/spiritual community. Supporting documentation is required.
Three years of leading in a faith community or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preference may be given to applicants with: Experience as a chaplain in a correctional centre, prison or related justice‑based institution.
Experience working in a multi‑faith and culturally diverse setting such as a hospital or educational institution.
