Position
Firm Capital is looking for a General Accountant to grow with our organization. This position will provide accounting support for accounting team. It is a great opportunity for accounting professionals to learn and develop hands on full cycle accounting skills.

Your new role

Responsible for full cycle accounting for a group of entities including accounts payables, accounts receivables, and intercompany transactions;

Prepare reconciliations and filings for government remittances including but not limited to corporate taxes and sales taxes;

Prepare monthly and annual financial reporting packages including bank reconciliations, GL reconciliations, and identify adjusting journal entries to ensure accuracy of general ledger;

Provide ad-hoc analysis and perform other responsibilities and duties to support senior management as assigned.





Manage full cycle accounting for a TSX listed public entity and other investment capital pools, including processing payments for funding and discharges, dividend distribution, and other operational matters;

Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages including bank and investment portfolio reconciliations and making required adjusting journal entries to ensure accuracy of general ledger

What you need to succeed

A minimum 1 - 2 years’ work experience in related fields

University degree or college diploma in accounting, finance, or business

A self-starter, results driven team player and committed qualified with analytical, problem-solving skills

Strong attention to detail, prioritization and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

Strong verbal and communication skills; Must be fluent in English (written and oral)

Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office with extensive Excel skills
