We welcome applications for part-time professors (Fall term). Course assignments are based on scheduling needs, with contracts typically up to 6 hours per week. Day time on-campus availability is preferred. Responsible for providing academic leadership in the classroom and ensuring an effective and compelling learning workplace for students. You will…

Ensure student awareness of course objectives, approach and evaluation techniques.

Carry out regularly scheduled instruction, which may include tutoring and academic counselling of students.

Provide a learning environment that makes effective use of available resources, work experience and field trips.





Evaluate student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the student's work within assigned course

Course:

Law, Ethics and Social Responsibility in Software Development (BTE620)
Covers legal, ethical, and societal impacts of technology, including AI governance, privacy, and cybersecurity.

What You Bring to Seneca

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Law, Public Policy, Ethics, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline. A Master's degree or PhD is considered an asset.

Experience

Post-secondary teaching and/or strong industry experience

Demonstrated knowledge of technology ethics, privacy legislation, cybersecurity governance, digital policy, and emerging technologies.

Experience applying ethical, legal, and social frameworks to technology-related issues.

Postsecondary teaching experience is preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility

Collaboration and teamwork

Knowledge of AI governance, privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property, and digital policy.

Ability to connect theoretical concepts to contemporary industry practices and real-world case studies.

Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
