Job Title: Yard Labourer

Location: Saint John, NB

Shift/Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $16.50/Hour

Job Information:

We are seeking Yard Labourers to join our client's team at their hardware store!

As a Yard Labourer, you will play a key role in maintaining smooth and effective yard operations. Your responsibilities will include loading and unloading materials, organizing inventory, assisting customers, and keeping the yard clean and orderly.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard, ensuring that products are displayed properly and safely.
- Regularly inspect the yard for any hazards or safety concerns, addressing them promptly.
- Load and unload products and materials, ensuring accurate inventory counts and proper storage.
- Assist in restocking shelves and displays, keeping track of inventory levels and notifying supervisors of low stock.
- Greet and assist customers in locating products, providing knowledgeable recommendations and excellent customer service.




- Answer customer inquiries and help resolve any issues or concerns they may have.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy items, moving materials, and operating yard equipment.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions, maintaining a positive and proactive attitude.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Previous experience in a labour-intensive role, particularly in a retail or hardware environment, is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Basic communication skills in English; additional language skills are a plus.
- Understanding of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- A valid driver's license is preferred for potential delivery tasks or yard operations.
- CSA Approved Steel-Toe Boots.
- PPE such as gloves, glasses, and long sleeve shirts.
