The Arbutus Club is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Tennis Professional (Contractor) to join our Tennis Department. This opportunity is ideal for an energetic instructor and coach who is passionate about developing players of all ages and skill levels while creating engaging, welcoming, and positive experiences for our Members and their families.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Deliver high-quality private, semi-private, and group tennis instruction to players of varying ages and skill levels, including juniors, adults, beginners, recreational players, and competitive athletes

- Develop engaging lesson plans and training programs to meet the individual needs, goals, and skill levels of players

- Provide knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and professional coaching that encourages player development and a love of the sport





- Build positive and professional relationships with Members and their families

- Provide guidance and feedback to help players achieve their tennis goals and improve their skills

- Collaborate with the Director of Tennis and Tennis Department leadership to support a high-quality Member experience

- Participate in Tennis Department meetings and programming initiatives, as required

Requirements & Qualifications

- Tennis Canada Club Professional 2 (CP2) certification or higher, or an equivalent international certification

- Minimum three (3) years of tennis coaching experience, including experience working with both junior and adult players

- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering lesson plans and programming for a range of ages and skill levels, from beginner to competitive

- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills

- Passion for tennis and a genuine interest in helping players develop their skills and enjoyment of the sport

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

- CPR and First Aid certification is considered an asset
- A degree or diploma in Kinesiology, Education, Business, Marketing, Sport Management, or a related field is considered an asset
- A Criminal Record Check will be required
