Position Details

- Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
- Location: Bridgewater, Nova Scotia
- Hours: 35 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (daytime clinic hours)
- Reports To: Medical Director / Radiologist Lead
- Salary: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience

About ila Diagnostics ila Diagnostics is a new private diagnostic imaging and healthcare education centre in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred diagnostic ultrasound services. As we expand our services, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technologist / Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our growing team. Position Summary The successful candidate will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician requisitions, professional standards, and clinic protocols. Working collaboratively with radiologists, referring physicians, and clinic staff, you will help deliver timely, accurate, and patient-focused diagnostic imaging services.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetrical, small parts, thyroid/soft tissue, and vascular imaging within your scope of practice.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images and measurements for radiologist interpretation.
- Review patient histories and verify examination requirements.
- Provide compassionate, qualified patient care while ensuring comfort, dignity, and privacy.
- Maintain accurate examination documentation and technical records.
- Operate ultrasound equipment safely and perform routine quality control checks.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and clinic staff to support productive patient care and workflow.
- Maintain compliance with professional practice standards, infection prevention protocols, and applicable privacy legislation.

Qualifications

Required





- Diploma or degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or an equivalent recognized program.
- Current professional credentials appropriate to ultrasound practice and eligibility to practise in Nova Scotia.
- Previous experience performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of patient care and image quality.

Preferred

- Sonography Canada certification or equivalent professional credential.
- Experience in private diagnostic imaging and familiarity with PACS, RIS, and EMR systems.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
