Wage $19.00 per hour (full time position; 40 hours per week)
Job Description Preparing and mixing ingredients for frozen food items made by hand for distribution to local supermarkets
Preparation of Portuguese cod and shrimp cakes and other specialties in high-volume commercial kitchen setting
Seasoning mixtures during preparation in accordance with Portuguese recipes
Cooking and mixing all the required ingredients
Preparing and cooking filling for the shrimp cakes in accordance with Portuguese recipes
Portioning and molding cod and shrimp cakes and other specialties
Monitor stock levels, rotate ingredients, order supplies and estimate food requirements to minimize waste
Clean kitchen and work areas
Job Requirements Minimum 3 to 5 years of commercial cooking experience, specifically in preparing traditional Portuguese pasteis de bacalhau, rissoes [shrimp, beef, chicken, tuna & other fillings]
Work with minimal supervision
Prepared to work in a commercial kitchen environment
