Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Video Editor specializing in daily news and short-form content to join our fast-paced media team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft compelling visual stories that inform, engage, and entertain audiences across multiple platforms. As a Video Editor, you will be instrumental in transforming raw footage into polished, impactful videos that capture the essence of current events and trending topics.

Your expertise will help shape the visual narrative of our news coverage, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality production standards.

Duties

- Edit and assemble raw video footage into engaging daily news segments and short-form videos, ensuring clarity, pacing, and visual appeal.
- Edit each recording into a clean, broadcast-quality finished piece that meets the channel's editorial and technical standards.
- Produce vertical short-form cut-downs, including YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels, from long-form material, captioned and paced for sound-off viewing.
- Create titles, lower-thirds, subtitles, and motion graphics consistent with the channel's brand guidelines
- Design thumbnails and prepare titles, tags, and descriptions that support discovery on YouTube
- Carry out colour correction and audio levelling to maintain a consistent on-air look and sound.
- Collaborate with reporters, producers, and content creators to understand project goals and deliver compelling visual stories.
- Incorporate graphics, animations, sound effects, and music using industry-standard software to enhance video quality.
- Manage multiple editing projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-moving news environment.
- Maintain organized archives of footage and project files for easy access and future use.




- Stay updated on current trends in video editing techniques and digital media to continually improve content quality.
- Ensure all videos adhere to brand guidelines, legal standards, and broadcast regulations.

Skills

- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications including Adobe Premiere Pro for editing; Adobe After Effects for motion graphics; Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom for image editing; Adobe Illustrator for graphic design; Adobe InDesign for layout work.
- Experience with Final Cut Pro or similar non-linear editing software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of video storytelling principles, pacing, and visual composition.
- Working knowledge of colour correction, audio editing, and export and encoding for broadcast and social platforms
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members across departments.
- Knowledge of current digital media trends and best practices for short-form content distribution.
- Technical proficiency in video codecs, formats, and export settings suitable for various platforms.
- Skilled working knowledge of English and Bengali is an asset for captioning and edit decisions.
