Role Description The Video Editor role at J&W; Nexus is a full-time, on-site position based in Vancouver, BC.
The Video
Editor will be responsible for assembling and editing video content for marketing, product demonstrations, internal communications, and client-facing materials, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and project goals. Daily tasks include reviewing raw footage, selecting and organizing clips, adding transitions, audio, graphics, and motion elements, and performing color correction and grading to achieve a polished, consistent look. The role involves collaborating closely with creative, marketing,
and technical teams to translate complex technology and AI concepts into transparent, engaging visual stories.
The Video
Editor will also maintain organized project files, adhere to deadlines, and contribute ideas to improve the visual identity and storytelling approach across channels.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Video Production and Video Editing, including managing raw footage and delivering polished final outputs.
- Proficiency in Video Color Grading to maintain visual consistency and enhance overall image quality.
- Experience with Motion Graphics and Graphics to create dynamic visuals, overlays, and explainer content.
- Advanced knowledge of industry-standard editing and motion tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent).
- Ability to interpret creative briefs, follow brand guidelines, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong storytelling, visual communication, and attention to detail, with the ability to simplify complex ideas.
- Effective time management skills, including handling multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant education or training in film, media, design, or a related field is beneficial; portfolio or showreel demonstrating prior work is required.
