Position Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of a wind energy facility. Working closely with the Site Supervisor, the Wind Technician will help achieve safety, environmental, operational performance, and budget objectives while maintaining the highest standards of reliability and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind turbine systems and related equipment.
- Operate and maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform turbine status checks, diagnose faults, clear error codes, and complete corrective repairs.
- Grease and torque wind turbines.
- Change gearbox oil within designated turbine locations.
- Replace mechanical components as required.
- Service blade and hub components.
- Complete work orders,



maintenance records, timecards, and other required documentation.
- Maintain professional and respectful relationships with landowners, contractors, regulators, and other external stakeholders.
- Follow all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Demonstrate the organization's core values in daily work.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Success Measures

- Support safe facility operations while maintaining zero environmental, health, and safety incidents.
- Help maintain greater than 98% turbine availability while operating within approved budgets.
- Work effectively as part of a collaborative maintenance team.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with landowners, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.

Education

One of the following is preferred:

- Wind Turbine Technician Certificate
- Technical Diploma
- Mechanical or Electrical Trade Certification

Equivalent combinations of directly related education and relevant experience may also be considered.

Experience

- Minimum two years of wind power experience preferred.
- Experience working around high-, medium-, and low-voltage electrical equipment.

Skills & Qualifications

- Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating procedures, service manuals,



and technical documentation.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Experience using industry-standard SCADA systems.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with diagnostic equipment such as multimeters and voltage testers.
- Motivated to continue developing technical skills and advance professionally.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of integrity and strong work ethic.
- Ability to understand technical issues within the context of overall business operations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.

Job Requirements

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to travel within Canada and occasionally the United States.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Ability to work safely in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening.
- Ability to work rotating schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments.
