Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will be part of the Energy & Infrastructure Department. The technician will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of all equipment related to instrumentation and control for the process plant. In addition, they will perform various electrical tasks related to motors as well as tasks related to the PLC. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the setting.
Install, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation systems, including transducers, gas detectors, weighing systems, flow controllers, and process analyzers, ensuring seamless integration and communication with PLC systems.
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and control equipment.
Configure, program, and maintain programmable devices such as SEL relays, VFDs, and other control system components.
Conduct field inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and PLC-controlled processes.
Perform instrument calibration, tuning, and equipment adjustments to optimize performance and reliability.
Verify and maintain the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of process measurements and instrument readings.
Create, update, and maintain instrumentation drawings, schematics, and documentation using AutoCAD.
Develop, maintain, and manage instrumentation datasheets, records, and technical documentation.
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while maintaining a clean,
organized, and safe work environment.
Report all incidents, hazards, and near-miss events promptly to the Supervisor and participate in corrective actions as needed.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience as an Instrumentation Technician in an industrial, mining, or heavy process environment.
Valid Electrical Journeyman Certification is considered a strong asset.
Previous underground mining experience is considered an asset.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with Wonderware (AVEVA) systems is required.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Effective communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.
Your Work Schedule:
Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
