Make a difference as a Youth Outreach Worker for Directions Youth Services in Vancouver, British Columbia. This full time role focuses on supporting at-risk youth with mental health and addiction challenges. This position, working 35 hours a week, prioritizes youth under 25, providing awareness of resources that promote healthier alternatives for those experiencing homelessness.
Your experience in social services will help communities facing systemic issues. You will engage with young individuals to address their needs, offering guidance and support. Key Responsibilities:
- Promote access to community health and social resources
- Work with youth facing homelessness and addiction
- Mediate conflict situations with effective strategies
- Implement harm reduction principles in outreach activities
- Collaborate with local services to aid youth Requirements:
- Two-year diploma in human/social services
- One year of related experience in social services
- Knowledge of adolescent development and behavioral management
- Completion of background criminal check
- Valid BC driver’s license and relevant certifications Utilize your skills in outreach, conflict resolution, and mental health support to empower Vancouver's youth.
