You will ideally have:
Approximately 3–7 years of legal experienceFamily law experience (preferred,
but not required)Practical courtroom experienceMembership in good standing with the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, or eligibility to become a memberStrong legal research, drafting, and analytical skillsExcellent advocacy, negotiation, and communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailA qualified, client-focused approachThe ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative teamA willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to the firm’s continued successBilingual (English/French) skills are considered an assetKey Responsibilities
As an Associate Family Lawyer, you will:
Manage and advance client files with appropriate guidance and supportMeet with clients to provide legal advice and move matters forwardRepresent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedingsPrepare legal documents, correspondence, and court materialsAttend court appearances and other legal proceedingsWork collaboratively with lawyers, paralegals, and legal assistantsBuild and maintain strong client relationships while delivering exceptional serviceContribute to the continued growth and success of the firmWhy MDW Family Law?
