The Internal Auditor role supports a variety of audit projects across CPKC's operations, financial/corporate, and information systems audit teams. Working under the guidance of a mentor, the successful candidate will gain valuable audit experience while contributing to risk management, regulatory compliance, process improvements, and asset protection. The role also provides opportunities to build relationships across the organization, develop communication and leadership skills, and work toward a professional audit certification or designation.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
Plan and conduct operational audits and advisory engagements in accordance with the Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS) and CPKC's Internal Audit ManualConduct risk assessmentsDesign and execute audit procedures, including evaluation of audit evidence gathered from internal audit clients against the subject matter under auditIdentify audit observations and root causesPrepare working papers with appropriate levels of detail and clarityGenerate clear and concise audit reports summarizing findings and recommendationsLeverage data, analytics,



and available tools to enhance audit coverage and efficiency and identify value-added insights for managementObtain and demonstrate an understanding of the complex systems, processes, risks, and controls that are relevant to the business units being auditedBuild and maintain relationships with business partners at all levels. Provide advice and share knowledge with these business partners to strengthen governance, risk, and control environments and to improve processes efficiency and effectivenessMonitor the outcomes of previous audits and evaluate whether adequate corrective actions have been implemented to address significant risks or issuesPOSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related fieldMinimum 1 year of audit experience in operations and/or financial auditingProfessional designations such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Chartered Skilled Accountant (CPA), or progress toward obtaining one of these designations, are preferredWHAT CPKC HAS TO OFFER
