Position Details:

Position: Full Time Front Desk Guard

Site: Seneca Polytechnic - Newnham

City: North York, ON

Overtime Method: ESA - Employment Standards Act

Hours: Monday to Friday (0600-1200)

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $21.50 / an hour (based on levelling)

Internal Posting Date: August 7th, 2026

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct proactive foot and vehicle patrols throughout Newnham's extensive facilities, academic buildings, residence, and student spaces
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and medical emergencies with confidence and care
- Provide excellent customer service and information to students, visitors, and faculty
- Monitor access, enforce campus policies, and assist with crowd management during events
- Prepare thorough incident reports and assist with investigations
- Engage with Toronto Police, Fire, EMS, and campus partners as needed

Qualifications

- Legally Authorized to Work in Canada
- Ontario Security Guard License
- WSIB Approved Standard First Aid/CPR Level C
- Strong communication skills and an upbeat, professional attitude
- Ability to handle quick-paced, diverse campus demands
- Prior post-secondary or healthcare security experience an asset
- Bilingual/multilingual skills are a plus
- Must not be a current Seneca student at Newnham
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB certification program prior to their onboarding training
- Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
