Summary

The gasket material Handler is responsible for handling materials and components to support gasket production processes while ensuring adherence to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) standards. Key duties include preparing materials from stock locations, issuing materials to the manufacturing floor, conducting inspections, and verifying components. The role also involves assisting with various gasket line activities such as painting, packaging, cutting, assembling, and machining when needed. Accurate record-keeping of job time and attendance is essential, along with following all safety protocols and reporting unsafe conditions promptly

Primary Accountabilities & Result Areas:

1. Understand and adhere to Flexitallic’s Quality, Health, Safety and Environment systems, policies, programs and requirements.

2. Understand the work assigned and any risks and safeguard measures, as well as your workplace Quality, Health, Safety and Environment requirements.

3. Read the work order package and move material and components accordingly.

4. Verify conformance to applicable procedures and other approved documents.

Typical Duties, Actions and Responsibilities:

- Participate in Quality, Health, Safety and Environment training, and awareness activities, follow work practices and procedures and maintain valid certifications as required.
- Immediately report unsafe work practices and conditions to your supervisor, as have the right to refuse unsafe work.
- Report accidents, near misses, injuries,



or illnesses immediately to your supervisor.
- Responsibility to use personal protective equipment and clothing as directed by the employer and work in compliance with the OH&S; Act, regulations and code.
- Plans ahead and schedules tasks according to priority to meet on-time delivery.
- Replenish raw material from reserved location(s) to work in progress location.
- Pick materials (exotic wires and fillers, rings) from stock locations (warehouse).
- Issue materials into MFGFLOOR. Do the first piece inspection for every work order before letting it off to winding operation.
- Verify components, including material and dimensions when put away.
- Assists other Gaskets Line activities when workload permits.

Experience Qualifications and Related Skills:

- Previous experience as material handler would be an asset: e.g material picking and put away, monitoring storage capacity, inventory level and counting.
- Experience working with gaskets, industrial materials, or related components is an asset.
- Have minimum 1 year of experience with cranes and forklifts
- Ability to accurately inspect materials and components
- Effectively plan and prioritize tasks to meet production schedules and deadlines

Education Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in forklift or material handling will be an asset.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

- Fast-paced working environment with shifting priorities and quick response deliveries
- Standing for long periods
- Bending at the knees required
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
