Daily Seafood is a growing seafood wholesaler and distributor based in Toronto, serving restaurants, retailers, and home delivery customers across Ontario.

We are currently seeking an Senior Accounts Payable Officer to join our team in a key hands-on accounting and operations role. This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced managing day-to-day accounting functions within a rapid-paced inventory and distribution environment.

This is not a purely supervisory or strategic finance position. The successful candidate will be actively involved in the day-to-day accounting operations of the business while helping improve processes, organization, controls, and reporting.

Experience in food distribution, wholesale, logistics, manufacturing, inventory-based businesses, or similar operational environments is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage accounts payable, vendor reconciliations, and supplier payment processes
- Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations
- Manage CRA remittances, HST filings, tax payments, and government reporting requirements
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Work closely with external accountants and auditors
- Assist with accounts receivable oversight, collections, and customer account maintenance
- Maintain staff purchase records and reconciliations
- Support inventory accounting, inventory reconciliations, and variance investigations
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records
- Prepare journal entries and assist with financial reporting
- Work closely with ownership and operations teams to ensure accounting accuracy and accountability




- Identify and implement improvements to accounting workflows, controls, and organizational processes

Qualifications:

- 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience preferred
- Experience with accounts payable, reconciliations, month-end procedures, and government filings
- Experience in inventory-based, wholesale, food distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or operational accounting environments strongly preferred
- Experience using ERP and accounting systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues independently
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities
- Self-motivated with a willingness to take ownership of accounting processes from start to finish
