Overview
Join our dedicated Stabilization Centre as a Casual Worker and play a vital role in providing compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals in need of stabilization and support. As a Casual Worker, you will assist with a variety of clinical and non-clinical tasks, ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of our clients while supporting the multidisciplinary team. Duties
- Assist with patient care activities, including mobility support, hygiene assistance, and meal preparation to promote comfort and dignity.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to protocols.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and case managers to monitor client conditions and report any changes or concerns promptly.
- Help maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control standards are met.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, especially those with dementia or disabilities, fostering a positive environment.
- Assist with documentation related to patient care, incident reports,
and other administrative tasks as required.
- Support discharge planning and home care preparations to facilitate smooth transitions for clients returning home or to assisted living facilities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of senior care practices, dementia care techniques, and working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Experience with medication administration, patient care procedures, and familiarity with medical terminology will enhance your effectiveness in this role.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for patient transfers or equipment handling.
- Strong communication skills combined with compassionate caregiving attitude are essential for success.
- Basic understanding of case management principles and hospice care practices is advantageous.
- Certification in first aid or CPR is a plus; ongoing training opportunities may be available.
