Private School Partnerships Representative – K–12
Commission-Based | Flexible, Part-Time Opportunity | Greater Toronto Area / Ontario
About Innova STEM Labs
Innova STEM Labs is an education solutions provider dedicated to empowering young people to become innovators.
We provide engaging, project-based learning experiences in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Our programs introduce students to areas such as coding, robotics, mechatronics, engineering, digital media, design, and other emerging technologies through hands-on activities led by skilled instructors.
We work with schools to make practical STEM education more accessible. Our school solutions include instructor-led programs, teacher training, hundreds of hands-on STEM projects, makerspace solutions, ongoing support, and a unique Mobile STEM Lab for schools that have limited classroom space or limited access to technology tools.
The Opportunity
Innova STEM Labs is seeking an energetic and well-connected Private School Partnerships Representative to introduce our K–12 STEM programs and school solutions to private and independent schools.
This is a flexible, commission-based business-development opportunity. It may be completed alongside the successful candidate’s current employment, consulting work, studies, or other professional commitments, provided that there is no conflict of interest and the candidate can meet agreed sales and communication expectations.
The representative will focus on developing relationships with private schools, identifying their STEM education needs, presenting suitable Innova STEM solutions, and helping move qualified opportunities from initial contact to a signed agreement.
Strong performance during the 2026–2027 school year may lead to consideration for a longer-term contract position with expanded responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
· Build and manage a pipeline of private and independent K–12 schools through telephone outreach, email campaigns, professional networking, social media, conferences, referrals, school visits, and community connections.
· Develop relationships with school owners, principals, heads of school, academic directors, curriculum leaders, STEM coordinators, teachers, and other decision-makers.
· Introduce and promote Innova STEM’s in-school workshops, after-school programs, enrichment programs, teacher-training opportunities, makerspace solutions, and related educational services.
· Present the Mobile STEM Lab to schools that need access to technology classrooms, specialized tools, or flexible STEM-learning spaces.
· Learn about each school’s academic priorities, enrolment, available facilities, budget cycle, student needs, and extracurricular programming.
· Recommend appropriate programs and prepare opportunities for pricing, proposals, demonstrations, and contract discussions.
· Coordinate presentations, demonstrations, discovery meetings, and follow-up conversations with school decision-makers.
· Maintain accurate records of contacts, opportunities, meetings, proposals, expected closing dates, and sales results.
· Communicate regularly with Innova STEM management regarding pipeline activity, market feedback, competitive information, and school requirements.
· Support a professional handoff to Innova STEM’s program-delivery and operations teams after a sale is completed.
· Represent Innova STEM professionally and communicate its commitment to practical, engaging, and accessible STEM education.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate is:
· Confident initiating conversations and developing current professional relationships.
· An excellent verbal and written communicator.
· Comfortable presenting educational programs to school leaders and other decision-makers.
· Self-motivated, organized, persistent, and results-oriented.
· Able to manage their schedule and sales activity independently.
· Comfortable working with technology, online meetings, presentations, email outreach, and customer-tracking tools.
· Passionate about education, innovation, technology, and creating meaningful opportunities for K–12 students.
· Able to understand a school’s challenges and connect those challenges with practical STEM solutions.
· Available for occasional school visits, presentations, networking events, or demonstrations.
· Able to work ethically and avoid conflicts with their current employer or other professional commitments.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are considered assets:
· Experience in sales, business development, partnerships, fundraising, admissions, educational consulting, or account management.
· Existing relationships within the private or independent school community.
· Experience working with school owners, principals, administrators, teachers, parent associations, or education organizations.
· Knowledge of the K–12 education market and school purchasing or budgeting processes.
· Experience selling educational programs, professional services, technology, equipment, curriculum resources, camps, or extracurricular activities.
· Demonstrated success developing new accounts and closing business-to-business sales.
· A university or college qualification in education, business, marketing, communications, technology, or a related field.
· Experience working in a start-up, small business, nonprofit, or entrepreneurial environment.
· Bilingual ability in English and French is a plus.
· A valid driver’s licence and access to transportation for school visits.
Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
Flexible Engagement
This opportunity is designed for candidates who would like to generate additional income and build education-sector sales experience without immediately leaving their current employment.
The representative may organize outreach and follow-up activities around their existing schedule. However, some school meetings, demonstrations, and presentations may need to take place during regular school hours.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
· Meet agreed activity and performance expectations.
· Respond to prospective schools promptly.
· Attend scheduled meetings reliably.
· Protect confidential company and customer information.
· Disclose and avoid actual or potential conflicts of interest.
· Follow Innova STEM’s approved pricing, sales, branding, and communication practices.
Proposed Commission Plan for the 2026–2027 School Year
Commission is earned on eligible sales personally sourced and actively developed by the representative. Commission is calculated on net revenue actually received by Innova STEM,
excluding applicable taxes, refunds, credits, financing charges, and separately identified third-party costs.
K–12 STEM Programs and Services
· 12% commission on collected net revenue from new private-school program sales.
· 15% commission on collected annual program revenue after the representative reaches $100,000 in eligible sales during the commission year.
· 18% commission on collected annual program revenue above $250,000.
· 5% renewal commission on eligible program renewals for the following school year when the representative remains actively involved in retaining and expanding the account.
· 2% expansion bonus when an existing school adds a new campus, grade division, program stream, or substantially larger student group.
The higher commission rate applies only to revenue falling within the relevant tier, unless otherwise stated in the final commission agreement.
Strategic Account Bonus
A representative who secures a qualifying multi-campus private-school group or network may receive an additional bonus determined before the agreement is finalized. Suggested bonuses include:
· $1,500 for a signed agreement covering two to three school campuses.
· $3,000 for a signed agreement covering four or more campuses.
· A custom incentive for large regional, national, or multi-year agreements.
Payment Conditions
· Commission becomes payable only after Innova STEM receives the corresponding customer payment.
· For instalment-based contracts, commission is paid proportionately as customer payments are collected.
· Cancelled, refunded, unpaid, or materially reduced contracts do not qualify for commission on the affected amount.
· All opportunities must be recorded and accepted by Innova STEM before a proposal or quotation is issued.
· Account ownership, lead protection, renewal eligibility, payment timing, and any shared commissions will be governed by the written commission agreement.
· Representatives may not modify pricing, promise discounts, or commit Innova STEM to contractual terms without written authorization.
Potential for Future Contract Engagement
This opportunity begins as a commission-based engagement for the 2026–2027 school sales cycle.
Based on performance, business needs, account development, professionalism, and demonstrated fit with the organization, Innova STEM may consider offering the representative a formal contract role in the future. A future contract is not guaranteed and would be discussed separately.
